I have been really busy building other websites to expand my web empire, and I forgot one important thing:
I quit promoting this site.
Well, that was a big mistake as I have dropped from being number one for "business opportunities" to not ranking at all (I am talking about ranking on Google Canada). I guess it was a little bit of an oversight since I guess I took my site rankings for granted as I had been there for years.
But the cost of my mistake is lost income every day. Sure, this site didn’t make a fortune, but the couple hundred dollars that it brought in each month helped our finances out - and now the site isn’t making much money at all.
So, I have gone back to basics. I am marketing this site again through many different channels, and I know that it will take some time to get my rankings back, but I know that I will succeed.
Make sure if you are in the same situation as me that you make a point of continuing your marketing efforts even if you are doing other things at the time - if not, you might find that some of your income just disappears (something that no entrepreneur wants).
