Well, today celebrates my one year anniversary of quitting my job. A year ago I was teetering on the brink of a big decision – put my faith in business and my ability to make it succeed, or stay at my job and be like everyone else.
At the time, I was very unhappy with my job and I went to work each day only to come home angry. I felt that there was just something wrong getting paid by the hour and coming home with next to nothing. Add that to the fact that I was missing out on my children’s lives – it was just a price I was not willing to pay.
So, I quit and put my faith in the business.
Now, a year later, I can say that I have made the right choice. Though we are not rich (yet), we haven’t starved and I feel that I have learned many new lessons over the past year. I have also had the opportunity to network with a number of wonderful business owners, just like myself, and it is amazing to be part of a community of like-minded individuals.
So what does the next year hold for me?
Growth, learning and new challenges. I am sure that hitting my goal of 500 websites will be a big milestone for me, even though I am still sitting at 400 or so sites short of it. But I still have a little more than two and a half months to make it happen, and I’ll figure it out somehow.
I also want to increase the number of sites that I own that run on autopilot and phase out the blog posting service I offer. I have had enough of writing for others, and I would rather like to focus on my own stuff instead.
Irrespective of what happens over the course of the next year, I know that I get to wake up each morning to run my little business empire and create my future doing something I love. All I can say is that it is worth every penny.
