One of the big things that you should be focusing on with respect to your business is customer service. In fact, your dealings with your customers are the lifeblood of your business, and if you neglect your customers, you will quickly see that your business doesn’t exist anymore.
Now, I am not going to make some sort of lecture about what your should do with respect to your customer service needs. That is not what I want to talk about right now – instead of complaining about customer service, I actually want to praise one company that impressed me this week.
Yesterday, I received a phone call from GoDaddy.com. Now, they are a domain registration company (if you are not familiar with them) and they are the first place that I had ever registered domains. I was a little defensive at first since they had never called me before and I wasn’t sure if they were who they were.
But what started out in that call was some of the best customer service ever. You see, they were just calling to see how things were going, to make sure that I was happy with their services, and to remind me that my Discount Domain Club membership was going to renew in a couple of days (something I had not realized at all).
There was no rush on the call, and I didn’t feel that there was any kind of motives to try and get me to buy something else – they were just calling me to help me out. I asked if they just selected me at random, and I was told that they call everyone – even those people that just have one domain. In fact, after spending twenty five minutes on the phone with them, I realized that they were doing what we should all be doing – putting our customers first.
Needless to say, they earned some brownie points with the call, I saved some money (they gave me a discount) and the result is this post. Was I impressed? You bet – I think that they now have me as a lifetime customer.
So a big thank you to the customer service department at Go Daddy – I would have to say that it was the best customer service that I have ever experienced.
